In which Suppliers is APS most interested?

1. Disadvantaged/Minority Business Enterprises

2. Established businesses in the healthcare arena that want to expand their market share

Why become an APS Contract Vendor?

1. Increase Regional Presence

By offering aggressive pricing and high service levels, the vendor can expect to increase market share in this region.

2. Establish a System of Support Staff

APS staff assists Participants and vendors in the introduction and evaluation of the merits of regional purchasing agreements. Once an agreement has been implemented, APS will provide staff resources to assist in identifying and pursuing product standardization opportunities.

3. Access to Increased Exposure and Advertising

Vendors have special opportunities to participate in certain APS, Kansas Hospital Association, and Missouri Hospital Association events. Furthermore, vendors have preferred access to key decision makers within the APS Participant consortium.

What is the process of becoming an APS Contract Vendor?

1. Complete a Vendor Application and submit it to APS for review.

2. Staff will submit your company name and information for consideration at the appropriate regional departmental committee meeting. This committee will direct staff to:

a. Ask vendor for a proposal;
b. To decline the vendor solicitation; or
c. Bid the contract category.

All information will be collected through APS staff. However, the committee(s) will make all decisions associated with an agreement.

3. Once a decision has been made by the committee, APS staff will notify you of the decision made. APS staff will then advise on how to proceed.
